8 months ago Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn Cashe was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on Dec. 16, 2021. Capt. Larry Taylor risked his life to rescue a reconnaissance team that was about to be overrun by the enemy — facing almost certain death. The half-hour mission drained all their ammo and nearly their fuel in one of the most daring rescues of the Vietnam War. We need to finally honor the elite U.S Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, Studies and Observations Group, or MACV-SOG, with a Congressional Gold Medal. By Col. Paris Davis

Harvey “Barney” Barnum was foisted into leadership of Marines who didn’t yet know his name. Maj. Bruce Crandall helped save 70 wounded troops in Vietnam. Known as a Good Luck Flag, it was displayed for 29 years at the USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas. Master Sgt. Justin Bolin, Military Times' 2023 Soldier of the Year, played a major role in the Army's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Load More
