Travel is a big part of life in the military, whether it’s for PCS, official duty, or vacation. IHG® Army Hotels team members understand the unique challenges service members and their families face when traveling, and they’re committed to making each stay as convenient and relaxing as possible.

That commitment to our guests is also reflected in our properties. As a result of the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, we’ve been able to build safer, more comfortable and more modern accommodations inside Army installations. Under PAL, $43 of every $100 spent on our hotels is reinvested into the program, with more than $5 billion to be reinvested over the next 50 years. Here are a few of the ways we’ve improved Army lodging facilities over the years:

  • Updating and renovating existing buildings to Holiday Inn Express® brand standards
  • Replacing old and damaged buildings with newly constructed Candlewood Suites® and Staybridge Suites® hotels

Our commitment to the PAL project is also about savings and sustainability. Our environmental conservation efforts have already saved the Army more than $1.8 million in the past three years.

We’re proud of the work we’ve been able to do so far, and we’re honored to be recognized for exceeding in our ultimate goal: guest satisfaction. For the last five years, IHG Army Hotels has been awarded five out of five stars in the Garrison Commander Evaluation Metric.

Our roots with the military run deep--from our guests, to our properties and to the many veterans we have on our team. For IHG Army Hotels, service is our mission and we are honored to fulfill it to improve the lives of service members and their families in all branches of the military.
