Navy Times is revolutionizing its digital experience with the introduction of new mobile applications for smartphones and tablets. A completely revamped website also is on the way.
The apps are available for Apple and Android devices.
Readers will instantly notice a crisp, contemporary design that's easy to navigate and built entirely with sailors and their families in mind.

Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times. "These apps deliver our independent reporting right to their devices, including breaking news alerts."
What you need to know:
1 How to get it. Android users can find the app on Google Play by searching for "Navy Times." If you're an iPhone or iPad user, download it from Apple's App Store.
2 Simple subscription model. The app is free to download and includes access to all top stories on the homepage plus full-screen videos and photo galleries. Subscribers can unlock much more once they activate their digital accounts by tapping the key icon in the home-page's upper right-hand corner. New customers can subscribe directly in the app for a monthly rate of $1.99, which renews automatically.
Readers can easily cancel their subscription at any time via their Apple or Google Play accounts.
3 What you get. Digital subscribers get up-to-the-minute headlines, optional breaking news alerts and unrivaled coverage of the issues affecting Navy careers, pay and benefits, and post-service education and employment opportunities — all from the largest independent newsroom covering the U.S. military. Better still, digital access is universal: See everything on the app, desktop and mobile websites, and in the digital edition of the printed newspaper.
4 More changes to come. Speaking of websites, Navy Times' desktop and browser-based mobile pages are undergoing a major makeover. Just like the apps, our new sites will be sleek, optimized for a variety of screen sizes and offer a superior user experience. Social media sharing will be available via the apps and websites once they launch. We're finalizing these updates now.
