SAN DIEGO — The cutter Boutwell has returned to San Diego from its final scheduled patrol for the U.S. Coast Guard after 47 years in service.

The Boutwell arrived back at Naval Base San Diego on Wednesday following a 41-day deployment to the Bering Sea.

The 378-foot high-endurance cutter will be decommissioned next year and then will be sold to the Philippines.
