Three sailors remain hospitalized after a helicopter crashed on the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan last week.

The MH-60 Seahawk crashed while taking off Friday morning as the ship conducted operations in the Philippine Sea and officials reported a dozen injuries, according to a Navy release.

All 12 of the injured were on the flight deck at the time, and the four crew members aboard the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 77 helo were unharmed, according to Navy 7th Fleet spokesman Cmdr. Clayton Doss.

The injuries ranged from “minor abrasions to lacerations and fractures" but none is considered life threatening, the release states.

Four injured sailors were initially evacuated to a Philippine hospital, and three remain there, command spokesman Lt. Joseph Keiley said this week.

While the carrier resumed operations Friday, Keiley said this week that the helicopter that crashed is not flying. He declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing investigation.
