7 days ago A general court martial found U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Bryce Pedicini guilty of attempted espionage, among other charges. The Navy relieved Cmdr. Cameron Dennis in February, just a few months after he assumed command of the Japan-based warship. U.S. officials said that they will begin to withdraw troops from Niger but there is no timeline. The Navy’s community college is partnering with Western Governors University to provide sailors with an associate degree in health science. The cargo ship 2nd Lt. John P. Bobo suffered a fire in its engine room Thursday, forcing it to return to Florida, the Navy said. After decades of corporate consolidation, the pendulum now swings toward consensus that the U.S. defense-industrial base must once again expand. The Navy is performing better than it did last year, but is projected to miss its recruiting goal by roughly 6,700 sailors this fiscal year. Criminal charges against Capt. Dennis Turner were dismissed in July 2023, and a Virginia circuit court allowed expungement of the charges in December 2023. Load More
