President Donald Trump declared a national emergency last month to pursue money from federal military construction and counterdrug efforts to pay for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The Navy announced Thursday that it gave the nod to Capt. Daniel Ettlich, who currently serves as deputy for shipyard operations at the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C.
The contract with Konecranes Nuclear Equipment and Services is part of the Navy's plan to extend the life of up to seven Los Angeles-class attack submarines at the shipyard.
