The destroyer Stout's command master chief was fired on Friday following non-judicial punishment proceedings. Navy officials said Command Master Chief (SW/FMF/MCD/FPJ) Albert Marcucci had an unduly familiar relationship with someone on the ship and made a false official statement during the investigation. The relationship was not with anyone in the command triad.

Marcucci was relieved of his duties by the ship's skipper, Cmdr. Andrew Fitzpatrick. The command master chief had served as Stout's top enlisted sailor since May 2013, which included an eight-month float that concluded April 4. He has been temporarily assigned to the staff of Naval Surface Force Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia. Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Ron Glass will take over duties as Stout's top enlisted sailor.

The NJP ends a storybook career. The special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman spent most of his time among snake-eaters, to include tours with Marine Force Recon units as a special operations independent duty corpsman and with the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion. In October 2009, he was selected for presidential support duty and reported as the senior independent duty corpsman at "Camp David," Naval Support Facility Thurmont, Maryland.
