The acting command master chief of a Submarine Force Pacific unit was relieved Dec. 17 following reports of sexual misconduct, Navy officials confirmed Friday.

Master Chief David Pojar had been serving as the temporary enlisted leader of Naval Submarine Support Command in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, since March.

A Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigation was launched the day Pojar was relieved, according to Cmdr. Corey Barker, a SUBPAC spokesman.

Pojar is based with SUBPAC’s Tactical Readiness Evaluation Team.

He has been on personal leave since he was relieved, Barker said.
