4 years ago There have been at least three crashes involving Navy and Marine Corps aircraft in the past 10 days. Cmdr. Devine Johnson and Command Master Chief Earl Sanders were relieved by Capt. Stefan Walch, commodore of Destroyer Squadron 2. Capt. Judd Krier took almost his entire crew of 700 shipmates to the movie last month. The helicopter was completing a routine training flight from Naval Air Facility El Centro at the time of the crash. Cmdr. Matthew McCormick had led Electronic Attack Squadron 137 since September. Midshipman 1st Class Taylor Connors was as prior-enlisted Marine who arrived in Annapolis in 2019. The student was not identified Tuesday. Electronics Technician 2nd Class Jon Deltoro died in the accident Friday morning, about an hour east of San Diego. Load More
